This man, whom I got to know because I asked too take his picture, posed as a street photographer playing for small money.

Suddenly his started to play Spanish guitar and everybody went silent. He was an educated man. Spanish guitar, he said, changed my life.

He was there, the last day of the legend.

It was a huge sell out.

Hotel Bogota in Berlin started clearing out on December 1, 2013.  I was interested in the last poster for the tango sessions held there over the years. This lady was sitting there and agreed to be in the picture.

The poster is above her head.

I asked if I could buy it, and at first they said no.  After some mediating with the owner, Joachim Rissman, I managed to gets it off the wall. Stamped on the back side: Hotel Bogota.

I can say I was there. The last day of a legend hotel. I got the last tango.
